xAI and Meta Close the Gap in Frontier Model Race

Wharton Professor Ethan Mollick noted that xAI's Grok and Meta's Muse are catching up in the near-frontier model space, introducing a new category of cheap, fast, and closed-source specialized coding models. Once on par with the big three, these two companies fell behind but are now showing a trend of returning to the competitive ranks.
