Who Actually Pays for AI Agents?
XLGamer98 · reddit · 2026-07-09
The post points out that one of the hardest parts of AI agents isn't the user experience, but figuring out who the actual payer is: it could be the end user, the merchant, the platform, the advertiser, or the service provider.
The author argues that when an agent facilitates a high-quality match between a tool, product, or service, its economic value stems from the supply-demand match itself. Therefore, the monetization problem is fundamentally a market design problem.
