Diagnosing Long-Horizon Failures in World Models

This study diagnoses the failure modes of long-horizon world models, attributing the primary issue to "kinematic imagination" rather than "dynamic imagination." By measuring the imagined kinematic-consistency error, the authors demonstrate that while policy rewards collapse across friction boundaries, this error remains largely flat.
