Claude Code Adds /checkup Command
xiaohu · x · 2026-07-09
Claude Code introduces the /checkup command to run an environment health check before making modifications. It helps clean up unused skills, MCPs, and plugins, deduplicates local and repository CLAUDE.md files, splits the root CLAUDE.md into nested documents and skills, disables slow hooks, updates to the latest version, enables auto-mode, and pre-approves common read-only commands.
The author emphasizes that /checkup will ask for confirmation first and will not delete content indiscriminately.
