Paper: Early Termination of Failing AI Agents
ruslansv · x · 2026-07-09
This new arXiv paper proposes using lightweight probes to read hidden states, enabling early detection when an LLM agent is on a failing trajectory, with episode-level recall guarantees.
The authors note that many agents are "hopeless" after just the first round but still consume compute; this method aims to terminate such ineffective episodes earlier to improve efficiency.
