Model Generalization to Revolutionize Robot Data Collection
RebeccaBellan · x · 2026-07-09
Commenters point out that a model's inherent generalization capability is becoming the core product. Because models now possess foundational reasoning about space and time, we may soon no longer need to collect millions of hours of real-world data to train systems. In practice, acquiring real-world data is extremely expensive, whereas a powerful generalizing model can function effectively with just a few minutes of real data. This will drastically alter the R&D paradigm in related fields.
