OpenAI Launches Real-Time Voice Mode

OpenAI has launched GPT-Live, a new generation voice model that is now the default voice mode for ChatGPT. The official announcement states it supports full-duplex real-time conversations, allowing seamless switching between continuous input and output. It also decouples chatting from working: when encountering search, reasoning, or multi-step execution tasks, it delegates the workload to GPT-5.5 to continue generating the response.
