Claude Code Allegedly Contains Security Backdoor

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) Cybersecurity Threat and Vulnerability Information Sharing Platform issued an announcement stating that Anthropic's Claude Code poses a security backdoor risk. Its built-in monitoring mechanism may transmit sensitive information, such as regional data and identity identifiers, to remote servers without user consent. The announcement advises users of affected versions to uninstall or upgrade immediately and to strengthen outbound permissions and traffic monitoring on development terminals.
