Boris Cherny, author of Claude Code, revealed that code output per engineer at Anthropic has increased by about 250% without a noticeable drop in quality. He advises companies against micromanaging AI usage, suggesting they give employees enough permissions to experiment and discover useful workflows. Psychological safety is crucial for AI adoption, and the biggest productivity gains often don't come from the very top engineers.
