GitHub released the open-source tool SpecKit to tackle the core weakness of 'vibe coding': AI often starts writing code before product requirements are clear, leading to missed edge cases and frequent rework. SpecKit reverses the workflow to 'define product specs → clarify ambiguities → let AI generate code from specs,' forcing the clarification of product rules before coding begins to make AI-generated code more robust and reduce unnecessary refactoring.
