NVIDIA Bets on CPU for Agentic AI Bottlenecks, Launches Vera

NVIDIA argues that the bottleneck for next-generation agentic AI lies in the CPU, not the GPU. They have released the new Vera CPU architecture, currently being tested by AI companies like Perplexity, alongside the next-gen Rosa CPU (featuring Rigel cores). While GPUs run neural networks, CPUs handle the crucial tasks between model calls: tool invocation, code execution, data processing, KV-cache management, retrieval, and result verification—all critical path operations for AI agents.
