Compass: Intent Gateway to Intercept Agent Payments

Exciting-Leadership9 · reddit · 2026-07-08

The author is developing Compass, an "intent execution gateway" for autonomous agents that handle funds. The core premise is that post-execution monitoring is too late once an agent can pay for APIs, tools, data, or on-chain services—if compromised, misled, or overly authorized, funds may already be lost. Deployed just before execution, near the signature or transaction approval path, Compass validates proposed payments, transactions, or tool calls against the agent's authorized scope: spend limits, approved counterparties, token rules, destination address rules, slippage limits, and escalation conditions. It then decides to approve, block, or escalate, logging decisions for auditing. The author is seeking candid technical feedback from builders working on x402 facilitators, Solana Agent payment flows, paid MCP servers, wallet automation, embedded wallets, and autonomous agent authorization/privacy systems, and welcomes early prototype testing.
