Meta plans to release an in-house image generation model to replace third-party options. Analysis suggests the market severely undervalues Meta's AI business, whether as a compute/data center provider or a model lab. Their models don't need to be SOTA out of the box; acting as a solid "worker" model is sufficient, especially given the potential restriction of open-source models in China.
