NVIDIA Unveils Vera CPU, Focused on Agent Single-Thread Performance

NVIDIA launches Vera CPU, claiming it as the "strongest single-thread processor at scale." Agent AI systems execute sequentially; each reasoning step, tool call, and code execution happens on the CPU. When the CPU slows under high load, the entire agent loop throttles, wasting GPU resources. Vera aims to keep each agent step fast even under full system load. Perplexity is already building on Vera.
