perilli shared IDC's latest forecast regarding the number of active enterprise AI agents in the next 3.5 years, noting that conversations over the past four months indicate the industry has yet to truly grasp the impact of large-scale agentic AI. He emphasized that many of the "agents" discussed today are essentially AI-assisted workflows involving heavy manual clicking under the guise of human oversight. However, human oversight is inherently a bottleneck and highly costly. He believes this situation will eventually change.
