Developers are complaining, and a consensus has formed across multiple AI communities: they have had enough of models suddenly becoming "dumber" (due to lack of compute or intentional downgrading) and sudden changes to generation limits for GPT images / Grok. He pointed out that these frontier model vendors offer no Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and "move the goalposts" every week, whereas regular service companies are expected to provide QoS guarantees. Using cable and telephone services as analogies, he questioned how users building businesses on generative AI can possibly predict daily service quality.
