Peking University Proposes Artic to Enhance Video AI Assistants
jiqizhixin · x · 2026-07-06
Researchers from Peking University proposed Artic, an AI-specific real-time communication framework for MLLM video assistants. Artic shifts the focus from "humans watching video" to "AI understanding video": it intelligently limits video bitrate based on AI accuracy needs, prioritizes crucial image regions, and introduces a new benchmark for degraded video. Experiments show that compared to existing methods, Artic improves accuracy by 15.12% and reduces latency by 135.31ms.
