Nvidia's Real Moat: CUDA Ecosystem and Switching Costs

Analysis suggests Nvidia's deepest moat isn't the GPU hardware itself, but the CUDA software ecosystem and the high switching costs of migrating optimized AI workloads to other platforms. Launched in 2007, CUDA natively supports nearly all mainstream AI frameworks (especially PyTorch, alongside TensorFlow and JAX). Combined with low-level libraries like cuDNN, cuBLAS, and CUTLASS, it forms a 20-year software accumulation that competitors struggle to replicate.
