Meetily: Open-Source Local Meeting Notes Tool to Replace Otter
dr_cintas · x · 2026-07-06
A team open-sourced Meetily, a fully local AI meeting notes tool designed to replace Otter, Fireflies, and Fathom. All meeting recording, transcribing, and summarizing happen locally on the user's machine with zero cloud reliance and zero external API calls.
Built in Rust, its transcription speed is claimed to be 4x faster than standard Whisper (supporting Whisper or Parakeet). It captures both microphone and system audio simultaneously, automatically ducks background noise, and auto-detects GPUs (using Metal on Mac), focusing heavily on privacy and speed.
