Feeding Text Images to Fable 5 for Cheaper Long Contexts
rohanpaul_ai · x · 2026-07-05
Developers discovered that rendering large blocks of code or text into images before feeding them to Anthropic's Fable 5 is cheaper than passing them as raw text. Because image tokens are billed at a lower rate than equivalent text tokens, this "text-as-image" approach effectively reduces long-context input costs. It is a community-discovered cost-saving trick rather than an officially recommended practice.
