Arm CEO: Demand for High-End AI CPUs 'Off the Charts'
机器之心 · wechat · 2026-07-04
In an interview, Arm CEO Rene Haas stated that demand for high-end AI CPUs is "off the charts." He views the orchestration, scheduling, and management of Agent workflows as a CPU rather than GPU workload, driving a surge in demand for high-core-count processors. The number of CPU cores required per gigawatt in data centers has jumped from 30 million last year to 120 million. Arm has launched its AGI CPU featuring up to 136 Neoverse V3 cores, TSMC's 3nm process, and a 300W TDP. Positioned as the "orchestration layer" for Agentic AI data centers, it reportedly delivers over 2x the rack-level performance compared to x86 platforms. Since its March announcement, the company's stock has doubled. Haas noted that future Arm CPUs could coexist in the same data centers with Amazon Graviton and NVIDIA Vera CPU racks, adding that the company will not abandon its IP licensing business.
