AI Images Overstuff Details, But Negative Space Makes Good Composition

AI safety researcher Beth Barnes observes that while excellent hand-drawn art leverages large areas of negative space, AI-generated images tend to cram details (greebles) into every corner in an attempt to grab attention everywhere. She believes appropriate negative space is a virtue, and current AI images still lag significantly in compositional restraint and rhythm.
