Two Initial Technical Routes for Protein Models

The team initially explored two routes for protein-to-text generation: first, training a text decoder with a protein encoder (which could act as an adapter for existing LLMs); second, continuing to train an existing LLM. This was part of their methodological exploration into protein-text multimodal models.
