shadcn Introduces AI Migration Skill for Radix to Base UI
shadcn · x · 2026-07-03
shadcn has released a migration skill designed for AI assistants, capable of handling custom variants, modified classes, and newly added props.
By providing agents with a Radix-to-Base mapping, the skill allows them to read code, identify user modifications, and preserve them. Upon completion, it generates a migration report for each component detailing what changed, what didn't, and how to verify. The entire process is tracked in git history, enabling any agent to pick up the task seamlessly at any time.
