According to Scale AI founder Alexandr Wang (reported by Business Insider), Meta's next-generation frontier model, codenamed 'Watermelon,' has matched the performance of OpenAI's GPT-5.5 on internal benchmarks. The model is currently still training. The report also notes that Watermelon utilizes an order of magnitude more compute than Meta's internally codenamed 'Avocado' model (aka Muse Spark).
