Silicon at NVIDIA: Two openings for "Senior Mask Design Engineer - Hardware" (Santa Clara and Bengaluru), plus "Senior ASIC Timing Engineer, DFT" and "Technical Program Manager, EDA Compute Infrastructure".
Security at StepFun: StepFun (阶跃星辰) added six roles. Four are security titles: "业务安全专家", "数据隐私安全工程师", "Agent 安全专家" and "基础安全工程师". Moonshot AI (月之暗面 Kimi) also added "大模型安全研究与攻防能力专家".
Heavy churn at ByteDance and ModelBest: ByteDance Doubao/Seed (字节跳动豆包/Seed) closed 17 roles against 2 added. ModelBest (面壁智能) closed 11 against 3 added.

Company moves

OpenAI added 7 roles and closed 13, leaving 805 open. Most of the additions are commercial and cover EMEA: "Strategic Partner Lead, Creators & Culture, EMEA", "Technical Success", "Southern Europe B2B Marketing Manager" and "Account Director, Startups | New Business". The two Scaling roles are infrastructure hires for power and data center controls.

Anthropic added 12 and closed 9, leaving 677 open. Beyond the Compute roles above, it added "Technical Deployment Lead" in both Munich and Paris, "Applied AI Architect" in Sydney, and "AI Outcomes Manager, Strategic Tech (Spanish-speaking)". It also added "Research Engineer / Scientist, Pre-training" and "Regional Research Economist, Economic Research" in Bangalore. The pattern is energy procurement and international deployment, with a smaller research element.

Meta AI added 7 and closed 8, leaving 309 open. The titles cover several areas:

NVIDIA (英伟达) added 7 and closed 3, leaving 561 open. Besides the chip and EDA roles, it added "Senior Research Scientist - Autonomous Vehicles" in Singapore and "Senior DevOps and Infrastructure Engineer".

Google DeepMind (谷歌 DeepMind) added 3 and closed 2, leaving 141 open. Two of the three are in London and are creative or marketing roles: "Film Creative, Marketing, DeepMind" and "Video Editor, DeepMind". The third is "Senior Software Engineer, Windows Desktop App, DeepMind".

SpaceXAI added 3 and closed none, leaving 312 open. All three are model-training roles: "Sr. Model Engineer, Model Training", "Sr. Model Engineer, Post-Training & RL" and "Sr. Model Engineer, Mid-training".

Apple AIML (苹果 AIML) added 3 and closed 9, leaving 296 open. The additions are "Agentic AI Researcher" (Herzliya), a Barcelona research internship and "Generative AI Research Intern - Image-to-Video Diffusion" (Beijing).

StepFun added 6 and closed 3, leaving 325 open. Besides the four security roles, it added "舆情公关" (public opinion and PR) and "UX 动效设计" (UX motion design).

ModelBest added 3 roles, all aimed at legal-sector products: "大模型解决方案架构师（法律方向）", "解决方案产品经理" and "模型策略产品经理(法律智能业务)". It closed 11, leaving 88 open.

ByteDance Doubao/Seed added "多模态大模型应用算法工程师 - Seed Model" and "豆包手机助手BD-火山引擎" (business development for the Doubao phone assistant). It closed 17, leaving 840 open.

MiniMax (MiniMax 海螺) added "RL 训练与推理工程师-多模态生成方向" and "AI for 芯片研究员" (AI-for-chips researcher), leaving 191 open.

Smaller additions:

Lovable added "Business Value Consultant" and "Senior Partner Marketing Manager".
Cohere added "Senior Product Designer" alongside its Dammam role.
Together AI added "Sr. Field Marketing & Community Manager".
Aleph Alpha added "AI Researcher - Pre-training (f/m/d)" in Heidelberg, which it needed more than most, since it has only 4 roles open.

Microsoft AI, Mistral AI, Cursor, Perplexity, Scale AI, Cerebras, Pika Labs, Genmo, DeepSeek (深度求索), Zhipu AI (智谱 AI), Meituan LongCat (美团·龙猫), Baidu AI (百度 AI), Tencent Hunyuan (腾讯混元), 01.AI (零一万物), SenseTime SenseNova (商汤日日新) and Alibaba Tongyi Qwen (阿里通义千问) added no roles today.

What it signals

Over seven days the 19 global companies added 306 roles and the 13 China-based companies added 76. The global figure is concentrated in a handful of names: OpenAI (66), Meta AI (53), Anthropic (46), NVIDIA (41) and Google DeepMind (24) together account for 230 of the 306. Today's titles show where some of that hiring is going. Energy supply, gas transport, power-generation controls and data center construction are now appearing next to research titles. That suggests the largest labs are hiring to secure and run compute, not only to build models.

International go-to-market is the second clear thread. OpenAI, Anthropic, NVIDIA, Cohere and Meta AI all posted sales, partnership or deployment roles outside the US, in Europe, the Gulf, India and Australia. Anthropic's "Technical Deployment Lead" postings in two cities and OpenAI's multi-city "Technical Success" role point to hands-on customer deployment. That is a sign of enterprise demand beyond API access.

Several companies were flat. Microsoft AI (622 open) and Mistral AI (168 open) added nothing over seven days. Zhipu AI (237 open), Meituan LongCat (66 open) and Alibaba Tongyi Qwen (28 open) did the same, though Meituan closed 2 roles today. A flat week at these sizes may just mean stable requisitions, so the data alone does not say more.

The China-based labs look different in pace and focus. StepFun leads with 33 additions over the week, against 325 open roles, and today's batch leans toward security and trust functions. ModelBest has 13 additions over the week, but its 11 closures today against 3 additions mean its open count is shrinking. Its new roles point to a narrower, vertical product focus in legal AI. ByteDance's 17 closures against 2 additions today, with only 9 additions over seven days, suggest a large base being pruned more than expanded, though one day is a thin basis for that reading. Baidu AI added 10 over the week and nothing today.
