Replit Rewrites Sandbox Engine from Containers to MicroVMs for AI Agents

Replit has rewritten its nearly decade-old sandbox infrastructure from Linux containers to a MicroVM architecture, with each sandbox running its own minimal Linux kernel. The company says the approach, audited against 6,211 CVEs, avoids 96% of them while supporting autonomous AI agents.
