OpenTac Open-Source Tactile Sensor Adds HDR Sensing for Light Touch and Heavy Pressure
OpenTac, an open-source tactile sensor project, introduced a high dynamic range (HDR) readout scheme that lets a single sensor detect both light touches and heavy pressure without saturation. Each taxel is first read at maximum gain on a 60-pin board, then re-read when saturation is detected, solving a long-standing dynamic range trade-off in tactile sensing.
