IBM's STAIR Retriever Cuts Hallucination Rate 65x Versus Fine-tuned RAG

IBM researchers introduced STAIR, a structure-aware retriever that encodes corpus-level table-of-contents structure into LLM parameters. It achieves a 0.05% hallucination rate—65x lower than fine-tuned RAG—and reaches 82.6% Recall@1, surpassing BM25.
