Google TPU Lands on Oracle Cloud in First Third-Party Deployment

Oracle has announced a partnership with Google Cloud to deploy Google TPUs on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) starting in 2027, with capacity expanding year over year — the first time Google TPUs will run on a hyperscale cloud outside of Google. Oracle will handle power, cooling, and data center networking, with its Acceleron network connecting TPU clusters into its infrastructure; customers can use them for both training and inference.

Google TPUs will run on an external cloud for the first time: OCI becomes the first hyperscaler beyond Google to offer TPUs, with deployments beginning in 2027 (m2, m4, m5).
Oracle is responsible for power, cooling, and data center networking for the TPU deployment, with the Acceleron network integrating TPU clusters (m2).
Around the same time, Oracle and Nvidia expanded their partnership to advance multi-gigawatt compute deployments, including Vera Rubin-related plans on OCI (m1).
Oracle is also bringing in inference-optimized chips from Cerebras and SambaNova, further diversifying its compute portfolio (m1, m3).
