NeurIPS Paper: Modular Addition Networks Can Discover Novel Pizza Algorithm

A NeurIPS 2023 paper shows that neural networks trained on modular addition do not reliably rediscover known algorithms: besides the known Clock algorithm, hyperparameter tuning can yield an entirely new Pizza algorithm.
