Grok Bot Major Update: 3x Faster Tasks, Deeper X Integration

On October 17, Elon Musk reshared a major update announcement posted by the official Grok Bot account, centered on comprehensive improvements to speed and experience.

Confirmed

• Performance: average completion time for computer tasks cut to 1/3 of the previous level; other response latency reduced by more than half
• Voice calls: faster and more stable, with the ability to remember more context
• Interface: brand-new fonts and themes, plus a cleaner new layout for chat cards
• Expanded capabilities: can now read X DMs, run tasks based on Notion notes and Stripe data, and a connector marketplace has opened up
• Co-developer mntruell said the Bot is now faster and more enjoyable to use, but still has a long way to go before it's truly "turnkey"

Why it matters

• CurieuxExplorer, who reshared the post, believes this leap in speed is the key to turning AI agents into everyday productivity tools — speed itself is the most important feature
• Developer Baconbrix said you can hand Grok Bot the hardest tasks and "watch it fly"
• According to mntruell, the ultimate goal is for the Bot to handle affairs in the physical world, signaling xAI's long-term vision for agent capabilities
