Contextual Embeddings Emerge as New RAG Direction

Antoine Chaffin of Google DeepMind noted that contextual embeddings, an emerging direction for RAG, are currently available only from Perplexity (MIT-licensed open source) and Voyage, with broader open availability expected in the future.
