A CoRL 2026 paper 'Wiggle and Go' lets robots estimate rope dynamics with a single wiggle and then act on them. MIT's Vincent Sitzmann clarified his ECCV remarks, noting that if assumptions hold, dedicated models still work, but since agents may now choose such models within their pipelines, the dedicated-vs-learned conclusion remains open.
