CAS Institute of Automation's Zidong Taichu open-sourced ZDTaichu5.0-9B, a multimodal model for the physical world. It ranked first in 8 of 9 international spatial understanding benchmarks, scoring 78.27 on MindCube-tiny and outperforming same-size peers by about 20 points.
