Three Employees Livestream Building a Company in 3 Days with Grok Bot, Backed by Musk
Matt Palmer, Lauren Tan, and Roshan Sadanani launched a three-day livestream on Sept 16 challenging themselves to build a company from scratch using only Grok Bot — from research and planning to shipping a product. Organized via xAI's official bot account with sessions for engineering, product, and founders plus GTM and customer support, the experiment drew Elon Musk's public endorsement on Sept 17, and the participants released all bot configs plus 10 additional templates for reuse.
Confirmed
- The three participants ran the three-day livestream starting Sept 16, covering research, planning, product building, GTM, and customer support
- Elon Musk amplified and publicly recommended the stream on Sept 17, saying he was watching a company being built live with @Grok @Bot
- The participants subsequently released all bot configurations used in the stream plus 10 extra templates for developers to reuse
Why it matters
- It is a public, real-time test of whether AI agents can end-to-end handle the full company-building process, rather than post-edited marketing
- The open bot templates lower the barrier for other developers to replicate similar workflows, carrying practical engineering reference value
- Musk's personal endorsement signals a new form of company organization; minchoi commented that it reshapes expectations of product launches and company operations, potentially pushing more teams toward a 'AI employees + tiny team' model
