Andrew Ng Tells PMs to Build; Huryn Ships No-Code SaaS with AI Agents
Andrew Ng posted that AI-native software engineering teams now operate very differently from the past: teams use coding agents to dramatically speed up product building, and great engineers no longer just write code—they partly take on the roles of product manager, designer, even marketing, with the saved time reinvested elsewhere. His message to product managers: learn to build.
Confirmed
- Inspired by Ng's call, Paweł Huryn (author of Product Compass) launched a "PM product engineering" tutorial series on building real SaaS products without writing code using AI tools, offering free GitHub simulator training for PMs, a collection of AI delivery prompts and commands, and an "intent engineering" tutorial.
- The first installment details using Claude Code, Clerk, and Supabase to design, build, harden, and ship a real multi-tenant SaaS in 3-4 hours without writing a single line of code, with all prompts made public; the case reached 100,000 installs, and all 5,094 tests were completed by AI.
- The product is the B2B2C SaaS "AskOne"—a Slido alternative where audiences scan a QR code to submit and vote on questions, which are ranked, moderated, and displayed on screen, with support for multiple rooms and team collaboration; Huryn built it live during office hours.
- The third installment covers GitHub branch management, real Stripe payment integration, and Cloudflare/Netlify deployment (per Huryn's resource roundup post).
Why it matters
- Huryn's industry judgment: coding is a solved problem that can be fully delegated to agents; engineers are stopping reviewing AI-generated code; actual adoption lags far behind the technical possibility but is accelerating. In his view, only two things remain for humans to do—discover what to build, and make the product succeed.
- This means the competitive landscape for product managers is shifting: the gap between PMs who can build with AI and those who can't is widening, and Huryn's series is a hands-on response to exactly this change.
