Mythos Map: An Investigative Tool for Understanding Agent Behavior

Why it matters

Matthew Siu explained his motivation for building an investigation tool: after the Hugging Face incident, conversations with researchers made him realize that while querying agents or keyword searches can locate key segments in transcripts, they lack a grasp of the "whole" — what agent behavior investigation needs isn't search, but a global "map." He believes there is significant room for investigation tooling for alignment researchers, and Mythos Map is one constructive step in that direction. He also cautions that the tool's output still has limitations, and users should remain careful.
