Sociologist reveals Global South data workers as AI's hidden fuel

Sociologist Antonio Casilli told Democracy Now! that AI's claimed autonomy relies heavily on low-paid data workers in the Global South, who train and maintain AI systems while being deliberately hidden by AI companies. He called them today's factory workers.
