God's Eye View: Open-Source Browser 'Spy Satellite Simulator' With Real-Time Voice AI

On August 25, developer bilawalsidhu open-sourced God's Eye View V1: a browser-based "spy satellite simulator" built entirely on real data. Backed by days of demos from the author, the project reached 5k GitHub stars within days and drew wide attention.

Confirmed

• Open-sourced under the MIT license, it renders live aircraft, ships, satellites, earthquakes, traffic conditions and public cameras on a realistic 3D globe, and can also track critical infrastructure.
• It supports hands-free voice control driven by a real-time AI agent (using the GPT-2o real-time voice interface in demos); users can ask about current conditions, annotate the 3D world, and even enter a cockpit view.
• In demos the model identified military activity on the 3D map, recognizing Fort Rucker as a helicopter training base and tracking helicopters on exercises.
• Per the author's August 27 post, the project has hit 5k GitHub stars.

Why it matters

• It aggregates multiple public real-time data sources (aviation, maritime, satellites, quakes, traffic cameras) into a conversational 3D-globe interface, showcasing a new interaction form combining real-time multimodal AI agents with geospatial data.
• The author credits the latest real-time voice model (gpt-realtime-2) with markedly better geographic recognition, making this voice-driven "god's-eye" intelligence-style browsing experience possible.
