Suno rolls out major playlist upgrades: shuffle, filters and custom covers
On August 20, Suno announced a major upgrade to playlists on both web and mobile, detailing the changes across a series of official posts covering playback controls, filtering and management, covers, and library integration.
Confirmed
- Shuffle is live on web, with the mobile version officially promised soon
- New filters let users sort playlists by "Mine", "Suno Official", or "Creators" to quickly find saved content
- Custom playlist covers are supported
- Playlists can be quickly added to the library: tapping "Add" puts the list directly into the user's library for easy retrieval
- Users can add songs or reorder them directly within the playlist view, without navigating elsewhere
Why it matters
- Playlist experience is key to retention for music products; this update marks a meaningful step in Suno's evolution from a generation tool toward an everyday music platform
- Features like filtering and shuffle close basic experience gaps with mainstream streaming services, a substantive improvement for users who discover and manage AI-generated music via Suno
