LLMs fake drug knowledge by guessing from name suffixes, study finds
A UT Austin-led study shows LLMs often lack real drug knowledge and instead infer drug classes from morphological cues like name suffixes (-pril, -olol). Using the open-source OLMo model, researchers demonstrated that apparent expertise can mask pattern-based guessing.
