Developer Sophia Yang open-sourced Finger Frame Effect, using MediaPipe to track hands in real-time for a frame gesture effect. She noted that while hand detection works well, current AI generation speed is insufficient for real-time rendering, so the effect cannot yet be used in live streaming.
