Ternary Decomposition as an Alternative to Quantization
A recent paper introduces ExTernD, a method using expanded-rank ternary decomposition as a flexible alternative to traditional quantization. Experiments show this ternary PTQ approach achieves performance comparable to the mainstream q4km quantization.
