Raft 1.0 Launches Team Mode for Multi-Agent Workspaces
Raft 1.0 has been released, centered on a new Team Mode for multi-agent collaboration. Rather than asking users to manage a pile of separate chats, terminals, and skill calls, Raft packages multiple agents into one shared workspace, which is why the launch has drawn attention in discussions around AI product UX and multi-agent workflows.
Key details
Across the posts, Team Mode is described not as opening several similar chat windows, but as organizing agents like a team. Each agent has its own persistent identity, memory, specialty or role; one post further describes these as separate profile, memory, runtime, and a full activity log. In the shared workspace, agents can claim tasks, work in parallel, and communicate through channels or threads.
Several posts also note that threads are meant to preserve decisions, files, reviews, and to-dos, so work can be resumed later with less context loss. This is presented as Raft’s answer to a common multi-agent problem: once too many sessions and tools are involved, coordination becomes messy and context gets fragmented.
Use cases and interpretations
PrajwalTomar_ adds that one Raft video was produced internally with Raft’s own agents participating, while humans mainly handled direction. That example is used to argue the product is being applied in a real production workflow rather than only in demos.
socialwithaayan places the launch in a broader trend, arguing it aligns with Karpathy’s recent framing that LLM UI/UX is moving toward a “multi-agent workspace” model where AI behaves more like a collaborating team than a single assistant.
